Because the Trump Administration Hates Us All, Justice Department to Crack Down on Recreational Weed Use

The White House has already gone forward with building the controversial pipeline and has put people in positions of power who don’t know what the fuck they’re doing; now, as if the world weren’t already doing badly enough, they’re coming for the weed.

That’s right; they don’t think the world feels the full weight of this horrible administration, so they are now looking to come after states that allow recreational use of marijuana.

According to Business Insider, President Donald Trump’s press secretary, Sean “Spicy Facts” Spicer, noted that there will be “greater enforcement” of federal laws regarding marijuana.

After being asked what the administration plans to do about states that allow recreational use of marijuana even though it’s illegal on a federal level, Spicy Facts said, “I think that’s a question for the Department of Justice. I do believe that you’ll see greater enforcement of it [marijuana laws].”

Spicy Facts did add that the Justice Department wouldn’t be looking to target medical-marijuana use.
“There’s a big difference between medical use ... and recreational use, which is something the Department of Justice will be further looking into,” Spicer said.

Jeff Sessions, the attorney general, who once joked that the Ku Klux Klan was all right with him until he learned that they smoked marijuana, has been an unsurprisingly vocal opponent of legal marijuana in the past.

Mark Kleiman, a professor of public policy at New York University, told Business Insider in February that the Justice Department could “destroy the legal market overnight,” that it would create a “mess” and would be replaced by an “illegal market.”

“If a state doesn’t want to enforce its cannabis laws, the federal government really cannot step into those shoes,” Kleiman said.

Spicy Facts then does what he does best, which was confuse opioid addiction with recreational marijuana.

“The last thing we should be doing is encouraging people,” Spicer said. “There’s still a federal law that we need to abide by when it comes to recreational marijuana and other drugs of that nature.”

There aren’t any other drugs of that nature, Spicy. In fact, Business Insider notes that smoking weed actually reduces demand for opioid-based painkillers, but when has the truth ever stopped anyone in this administration?

Trump has reportedly supported recreational use of marijuana in the past, but the administration has not issued an official position since he took office.
