Canada may legalise recreational use of marijuana

It is already legal to possess, consume, or grow cannabis in Canada for medicinal purposes but if governing Liberal Party has its way it will be legal to consume it for recreational use.

If Canada's governing Liberal Party gets its way, Canada could be the first major industrialised country to legalise marijuana.

While some believe cannabis can alleviate everything from Parkinson's disease to post-traumatic stress disorders, others say more research needs to be done on the drug's side effects.

Regardless Canada is moving towards legalising recreational use of the drug and reap some of the tax revenues.
