Now you can celebrate Bob Marley’s birthday by smoking Marley branded marijuana.
Bob Marley was born on February 6, 1945 in St. Ann, Jamaica and would have been 71 this weekend. On Friday, his family debuted a collection of cannabis and lifestyle products that connect to Marley’s belief in the positive potential of herb to heal and inspire.

The product line includes four categories of all-natural, locally sourced sun-grown cannabis flower and oil.
Body care products and smoking accessories. The cannabis is grown at local farms from experienced growers and doesn’t suffer from pesticides or chemicals. Jamaica is famous for its Rastafarians that worshiped the properties of ganja, but it was actually illegal in the country until recently. It was decriminalized for residents that have under 2 ounces last year. So far, it is only available in California, but the company hopes to expand to other states.
Marley Green is recommended for beginners and has balanced levels of THC. The company says its appropriate for anytime use. Market Gold offers energetic, uplifting effects that produces a more cerebral experience and is recommended for daytime use. Marley Red has a combination of CBD and THC and is meant for consumers looking for the medical benefits. It doesn’t have the psychoactive effects of the other strains. Marley Black is for connoisseurs seeking a more,physical, full-body experience and is recommended for nighttime use.
The company has also founded a philanthropic organization called Rise Up that will connect donors with grassroots projects around the world. The projects will reflect Bob Marley’s vision for a compassionate community.
