What, you don’t think you can get fit by getting baked? What are you, some kind of loser?
Cheri Sicard, author of ‘Mary Jane: The Complete Marijuana Handbook for Women’ has some tips on how to get fit and lose weight… while still getting stoned out of your freaking mind.
A study in the American journal of Medicine found that cannabis smokers have smaller waists – by 1.5 inches – than non-users.
2) Weed goes well with workouts
Remember that bit in Pumping Iron where Arnold Schwarzenegger tokes on a massive joint?
Turns out he was onto something.
A 2013 University of Sydney study found that marijuana user’s THC levels increased by 15 percent after cardiovascular exercise.
3) You can use weed to soothe exercise aches and pains
No, not by smoking it. There’s an increasing number of balms and creams based on CBD – the ‘other’ active chemical in marijuana, which is a potent painkiller but doesn’t get you high.
4) Weed is far better for you than alcohol
Struggling with dry January? Why not roll one up. Studies have shown that weed is far less harmful than alcohol.
Cannabis could actually be the safest drug available, after a study found it is actually 114 times less deadly than alcohol, according to the journal, Scientific Reports.
The reports‘ authors studied the effects of alcohol, heroin, cocaine, tobacco, ecstasy, crystal meth and cannabis.
5) Try a raw cannabis juice
It probably helps if you’re in a country where you don’t get arrested for being anywhere near a cannabis plant for this one.
American doctors such as Dr. William Courtney suggest using raw cannabis leaves for a healthy juice – with lots of antioxidants, but none of the THC that gets you high.
