Cannabidiol [DBD] is often neglected when marijuana is being talked about as the more famous chemical compound THC or Tetrahyrocannabinol is usually the main topic. People understand that it is THC that's responsible in making an individual high. But CBD however has a more useful function.

As per Leaf Science, CBD is the key ingredient to cannabis. CBD is one of more than 60 compounds found in cannabis that belongs to a class called cannabinoids. Both CBD and THC are present with the highest concentration and are often studied. Marijuana being used for recreational purposes contains more CBD and THC. There are strains however that have high levels of CBD and almost zero THC content.

CBD DOES NOT cause high, which means it is non-psychoactive. Recreational users does not usually choose a strain high in CBD, it does however give a chemical significant advantage as medicine as health professionals would usually opt for cures with minimal side effects.

Due to the fact that it does not cause high, CBD is often use for medical purposes. It contains a wide range of medical benefits. A team of researchers at the California Pacific Medical Center which led by Dr. Sean McAllister stated that they are hoping that trials on CBD as a breast cancer treatment would take effect.

CBD reduces the effect of THC, studies reveal. It offers the body a natural protection against getting high from marijuana. It reduces the intoxicating effects of THC such as memory impairment and paranoia. It also has the capacity to counteract the drowsiness bought to the body by THC. It explains the reason on why some cannabis strains trigger alertness.

Though both THC and CDB doesn't cause a lethal overdose, a condition called Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome is a rare condition affecting chronic smokers. As per High Times, people who suffer from the syndrome feel nauseous and would often vomit.
