In what may be one of the funnier examples of irony, Iowa state senator Chuck Grassley is wrong on medical marijuana. While he is making progress to introduce the drug as a medicine, he is doing so too slowly. Adult patients can not get help from medical cannabis, however, children in the state are now covered in the new act.
CANNABIS TAKES OVER IOWA: MEDICAL MARIJUANA MAKES AN IMPACT
Recently, Sen. Grassley introduced a new act that would lower barriers to cannabis research. Now, epileptic patients and their parents/legal guardians are exempt from marijuana penalties. This is a big move for Grassley and the state of Iowa. Furthermore, any child covered under the act is excluded when of adult age. Many concerned citizens feel the senator is moving too slowly on the matter.MARIJUANA MATTERS: THE BENEFITS OF MEDICAL CANNABIS
GRASSLEY IS CANNABIS FRAUD BUT PREACHES BENEFITS OF MARIJUANA
76 percent of Iowa supports the use of medical pot and for now, Grassley agrees with them. Children will benefit from this act but it seems Grassley is a fraud. He realizes that he must please 76 percent of his state, but he’s doing so in the most minimal way possible. He says he wants to ensure public safety and effective drugs are available for his state, yet, patients would like him to prove that sooner than later.Still, this is another win for weed advocates everywhere. More states are jumping on board the bandwagon. It’s looking like a pot filled the United States is just around the corner. What will this country look like in 20 years? Will the relaxed drug laws bite us back? Only time will tell but for now, it’s a golden age of pot.
