Family members arrested for allegedly bringing marijuana from Colorado
WASHINGTON, N.C. (WNCT) – Two family members are facing charges, accused of bringing marijuana from Colorado to Washington.
On April 29, investigators arrested Dustin Shane Upton, 35, of Ivy Street in Denver, CO and Dale Roger Upton, 64, of Hudnell Street in Washington.
Dustin Upton was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of a schedule VI controlled substance, manufacturing schedule VI a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Dale Upton was charged with possession of marijuana, maintaining a dwelling to use a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Their arrests follow investigators conducting surveillance on Dale Upton’s residence. They received information Dustin Upton was bringing marijuana from Colorado to Washington.
Investigators then conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that visited with Dustin Upton at Dale’s home on Hudnell Street. Investigators searched the vehicle and found marijuana. They then went on to search the home.
Inside the house, they found marijuana, marijuana wax from Colorado, marijuana oil from Colorado, marijuana edibles from Colorado, marijuana seeds from Colorado, a packaged marijuana cigarette from Colorado, multiple packages of marijuana from Colorado and items used to manufacture marijuana wax.
Dustin Upton was taken to the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $2,500 bond. Dale Upton was released on a $500 secured bond.
